Brushing teeth the right way : Part 2

Do not press too hard while brushing your teeth.
It is the prime principle for everyone to brush just with little pressure as the toothbrush is not a scrubbing brush. One should also never just brush back and forth sideways or just up and down as this presses tooth films even deeper into the interdental spaces.

Thorough dental care is of course not always compatible with professional everyday life. But there are also accessories for this purpose. Different companies have introduced dental care chewing gums to the market. They promote the flow of saliva which neutralises the acids of scraps of food and bacteria, which are produced in the oral area during the intake of food, in turn. However, this accessory can only be considered an exception as it does certainly not replace dental cleaning with a toothbrush.

Due to the introduction of the electric toothbrush the awareness for dental care has improved rapidly within the past years. With an electric toothbrush a much more thorough and gentle dental cleaning can be obtained for the teeth and the gum within a shorter period of time.

Of course the right handling of an electric toothbrush has to be learned and practised. People who are a bit unskillful should therefore decide to use a sonic toothbrush. Once the brushing technique has been refined a rotating brush with a smaller head can of course also be purchased later. This type of brush is more suitable, not just for dental care, but also for the necessary massage of the gum.
